At a glance

  • A 10+ year relationship to build and manage PTSB’s website supporting over a million customers and 90 branches
  • A self-service digital estate that boosts engagement, increases conversions and reduces the need for branch visits
  • Digital experiences optimised for a rebrand and to handle an influx of customers when two competitors exited the market

Objective

When Irish retail bank PTSB’s customers are researching a mortgage, or comparing loan or account options, they come to its website first. It's where careful consideration happens before customers walk into a branch or pick up the phone.

PTSB needed a digital platform that could do more than present information. The aims were clear: boost customer engagement, increase conversions to enquiry, and reduce the need for branch visits. That meant building a website with self-service features such as financial calculators, forms that connect to backend systems, and tools that let customers act without requiring a call or a visit.

And when PTSB undertook its first rebrand in 150 years, the website needed to reflect that new identity. UNRVLD has been the partner delivering on both fronts: the self-service capability and the brand experience that sits around it.

Solution

UNRVLD has been PTSB’s digital development partner for over a decade, building and managing every element of PTSB’s website. The work is progressive: forms, calculators and self-service tools delivered across mortgage applications, consumer finance, appointment booking, and most recently, a sustainability retrofit tool that helps customers plan home energy improvements with green lending products.

Working within a regulated financial institution means every integration and release has a layer of compliance rigour and formal governance. UNRVLD’s familiarity with the codebase, governance model, platform constraints and client team makes the transformative projects possible.

When PTSB undertook its rebrand, UNRVLD translated the new brand identity across the digital estate and rebuilt the online experience around it. And when two competitors suddenly left the Irish market, causing an influx of new PTSB customers, UNRVLD quickly created an onboarding portal to support the process.

Outcome

Today, PTSB’s self-service digital platform has boosted engagement, increased conversions, and reduced the need for branch visits. PTSB customers can now access live information and self-service tools relevant to their unique financial needs.

The tools built across the relationship like mortgage calculators, appointment bookers, finance estimators and application forms mean the platform actively contributes to the bank’s commercial goals.

And incorporating the new brand elements within the user interface design have reflected PTSB’s updated position as a full-service, customer-focused personal and business bank.

What's Next

UNRVLD is supporting PTSB’s move to cloud, upgrading from Optimizely CMS 11 to version 12 and migrating from on-premises infrastructure to the Optimizely DXP Cloud.

The migration will remove reliance on internal IT for releases, introduces modern search capabilities, and positions the bank’s website boldly for the next decade.

We are incredibly pleased with our decision to make UNRVLD our digital partner. They understand the unique demands of the financial sector. Working side by side, we’ve created a digital banking experience that instils trust and confidence within our customer base.
